Geiko and Maikos redone

I had an opportunity to re-do this assignment in my advanced illustration class:

I spent so much time pen tooling this out in Illustrator.
I really need to get a tablet. I learned it's way easier to pen tool things with one! Though I must say, I'm not too bad with a mouse!

My favorite part about this was messing with the great new pattern-creating capabilities of Illustrator CS6. I love making patterns and messing around with them.

There's more I could do for this, but at the end of the day, I feel like this is portfolio-worthy, and I might go back to it (again!) and mess around with it some other time. But i wanted to get it to a point to where I was ready to submit it to that contest
