This is an entry during this week's "Draw me a pokemon" contest for
. This week the pokemon Horsea was called out, which was perfectly fine and dandy for me
. This is the first time I have ever participated in this contest, and it gave me motivation to draw a pokemon I normally wouldn't. I thoroughly encourage you to check out the group and enter, too! They hold contests rather often, and it's really neat.
Ok, now about the piece...I would say it took me about an hour. I attribute my design of horsea to a pokemon card I was looking at for reference, which gives it the more stylized body and I gave a personal flare to his back fin. The bubblebeam is designed by me, and it was a lot of fun to make
. I wanted it to fill up more of the screen, so I allowed it to curl around. I had a lot of fun using multiple shading techniques in this piece
