I'm about 80% of the way done with this particular doodle.
In continuation with my older Christmas-themed doodle, I thought it would be fun to re-visit the idea of themed doodles. In that way, I can still have my nonsensical approach, but I also have a context to tie everything together.
This doodle, named night world (My 5-year-old niece came up with that!!!) was inspired from a lack of sleep. I've been experiencing troubles falling asleep as of late, and got sick of staring at my ceiling and playing gameboy. (which I firmly suggest you NOT do if you want to sleep) I decided that if I'm not going to sleep, I might as well make use of my time and do something at least semi-productive. That's how this doodle began.
For the most part, I've only worked on this doodle when about to go to bed, or when tired. I've tried to keep a loose night theme to it, hence the clouds, stars, and random moons here and there. I wish I would have thrown an owl in, but I didn't want it to take up too much space with details. I finally decided to bust out more than one color in a doodle--a welcome addition. I like having some tonal variation here and there. The markers I used are Staedtler tripuls fineliners. They have great crisp lines and are really thin!
