This was the first still life I did in my watercolor class. Done in Windsor & Newton professional grade watercolors on Arches 140lb cold press watercolor paper. Probably took around 10-15 hours. Wet on dry technique employed, with glorious loads of glazing. This is my first serious watercolor piece I have ever done. My teacher, Mr. Herzberg (definitely one of the best teachers I have had in my entire life) suggested that I get away from the local colors, so I did a lot of experimentation with it. The green vase-like thing has a lot of blues, yellows and reds. I am so happy with how it came out. I honestly think this is a fluke for me, I am so happy with how it came out! The only thing I am displeased about is the orange pot on the right. I'm watermarking this because my signature isn't in it. It's on the bottom, under the piece itself, so I cropped it off.
Haha, I must say I am not so good with acrylic paint. Even though I found out I suck because the paints I bought suck D: Perhaps if itwere with other pieces of the same style it wouldn't look as bad. Idunno.
I personally think the pot is fine, though the colors contrast just a wee bit too much with the other pieces.
